Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a secret sect.
The questline concentrates on "strange experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Content
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an unique katana in addition to several objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime series. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
